DJI Set To Reveal 4K Ready Follow Up to the Phantom Drone

In its teaser, DJI sets the tone for an epic reveal with a Christopher Nolan style film score, and filmic quality aerial video. As a sequel to its popular Phantom series, DJI plans to reveal its latest product, the Inspire 1 on November 12.

Excited to see what DJI has next,
enthusiasts have already started speculating what the new feature set will include. Apparent from the teaser is the Inspire 1’s crystal clear video recording capability.

The teaser ends with a few flashes, hinting at the form factor and a close up of the camera’s lens.

From the teaser alone, it’s safe to assume that this device is a tonal shift from the Phantom, which had amateur film makers and hobbyist in mind. Some photos surfacing on the Web, show a no-frills professional look, and a lot less plastic. Gary Mortimer of sUAS News noted, “The hex behind the Inspire 1 seems to have duel GPS a feature found on the Parrot Bebop.” and also speculated the device would hit shelves with a premium version, including a gimbal.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until November 12 for the real story from DJI.
