DJI is adding a new drone to its lineup. The Phantom 4 Advanced is designed to provide a more affordable aerial imaging solution in DJI’s Phantom family.
“With powerful hardware and smart capabilities, the Phantom 4 Advanced is the best way to venture into the exciting world of aerial imaging,” the company wrote in an email. The latest release will improve the original Phantom 4 by adding a powerful camera and more precise controls. It features a 1 inch, 20-megapixel sensor; a mechanical shutter; 4K video at 60 frames per second; and H.264 4K video support. In addition, it is equipped with a remote control that has a built-in screen and the DJI GO 4 app for live streaming, editing and sharing videos and photos instantly.
The drone also features intelligent sensors such as dual-band satellite positioning, ultrasonic rangefinders and redundant sensors, which allow it to hover in place and fly in complex environments without GPS. The drone’s dual forward vision sensors also enable auto brake, or detour capabilities.
Other features include a new technology for waypoint control; ActiveTrack for advanced image recognition; TapFly; Return to Home mode; Gesture mode and intelligent batteries.
“For those who are ready to take their aerial camera work to the next level, the Phantom 4 Advanced is truly the most affordable, intelligent and powerful flying camera you can find,” the company wrote.
