One of the biggest difficulties that come with all of the uncertainty of the past few months is that things are constantly changing, making it more challenging to plan ahead. Everyone is trying to navigate these unprecedented circumstances and adapt to doing business during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. One thing is for certain: this health crisis has reemphasized how important connections and exchanging ideas are for leading this industry forward.
We believe in the power of adapting, as well as gathering together to share and foster connection and education in our community, and we are committed to being that resource in 2020.
The health and safety of every member of our community and our team are of the utmost importance to us. As we prepare for the December event, taking place at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, TX, we want to assure you that we are following all guidelines set forth by the CDC, WHO, as well as state and local officials. As we actively work with Hyatt Regency, here are some of the things we are looking to implement in December:
- Enhanced cleaning measures: Hyatt Regency has added to its already rigorous cleaning protocols, requiring that surfaces are thoroughly treated with hospital-grade disinfectants and that this cleaning is done with increased frequency. This pledge includes a cleanliness accreditation by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), hotel-level sanitization efforts overseen by a ‘Hygiene Manager’, and constant oversight and adherence to the guidance of a cross-functional panel of medical and industry experts. Please click here for additional details on the Hyatt’s cleanliness commitment.
- Social distancing protocol: The CDC and WHO warn about direct, person-to-person contact as the primary way COVID-19 is spread. To help alleviate the risk of transmission in this way, Hyatt Regency will be using signage and floor decals to remind guests to maintain social distancing protocols, in addition to other protocols, to aid in reducing crowding. The staff are wearing PPE at all times, there is a single point of entry to the hotel to ensure the safety and security of all guests, and the Hyatt has spaced out public areas seating furniture to meet CDC social distancing guidelines. Attendees will all be required to wear masks.
- Additional sanitation stations: Hyatt Regency is installing more hand sanitizing stations across all of its properties.
- Conference Setup: There will be modified meeting room set-ups based on social distancing guidelines, doors will be propped open in breakouts for minimal contact, and meeting rooms will be cleaned/disinfected after each meeting ends in high touch point areas
Regulations and standards continue to evolve and develop, and accordingly we will provide further updates as they become available from the CDC, WHO, state and local officials. InterDrone would like to thank all those working diligently to help us relaunch the conference business and making our world safe again overall.
When you purchase an InterDrone Conference Pass, you can register with confidence: if for any reason the conference cannot take place in December, you’ll be able to defer your registration to 2021, or receive a full refund.
We look forward to seeing you in Dallas! Please stay tuned for a more detailed health and safety onsite preparedness plan in the months to come. Until then, please visit our website for more information.
