Mark has nearly three decades of experience in aviation and transportation law, including litigation, appellate, regulatory and administrative matters. He represents clients in foreign and domestic mass disasters, multidistrict litigation, federal aviation regulatory and enforcement actions, insurance coverage disputes, complex commercial litigation involving intellectual property and unfair trade practices as well as Federal Tort Claims Act and government contractor actions. He has advised clients on and litigated numerous aspects of international air transportation, including the application of the -Warsaw Convention -Hague Convention -Montreal Protocols -Montreal Convention -International Civil Aviation Organization’s International Standards and -Recommended Practices. Mark has also represented clients in international arbitration, including proceedings in Malaysia, Singapore and South Africa. He is particularly well versed in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) law, assisting clients in their efforts to obtain approval for complex commercial UAS operations, including beyond visual line of sight and autonomous flight. A frequent speaker and author on UAS and aviation matters, Mark is co-editor of the Plane-ly Spoken blog, which provides news, analysis and opinion on pressing issues that affect the aviation industry.
